Martin Dawes History

Martin Dawes (yes, there really is a Martin Dawes) saw the launch of colour television in the UK as a great opportunity to develop a TV rental business based on top end service. He opened his first store in Stockport, securing production lines of the earliest colour televisions for his rental business with Bush and HMV, top names at the time. The business grew at a fantastic rate, with further shops in Warington and Chester being opened. With the growth came change, although the underlying principle of quality customer service still remains today. We now have stores across the North West and Midlands and a large direct rental base which continue to offer top end service to all of its customers.

It doesn't stop there….

During the 1980's Martin Dawes recognised an emerging opportunity in the mobile phone market. Martin Dawes Communications became one of the largest airtime providers in the UK, before being sold to leading mobile service provider, O2.

Today the Martin Dawes group includes Martin Dawes Solutions, currently providing video conferencing facilities in English courts, and Martin Dawes Systems who's billing expertise means that they provide billing for some of the worlds largest cellular airtime providers.

Martin Dawes Delivery

Martin Dawes understand that once you've placed your order, you don't want to have to wait weeks for delivery. That's why we will always do our best to get your order to you as soon as possible and allow you to see whether we have the stock available in our warehouse so that you can see if delivery may take slightly longer. Unlike many other retailers, Martin Dawes also know that you might have a preference for the date your order is going to be delivered so we give you the opportunity to tell us which day would be best for you. You can state any preference at checkout in the special comments box, and we will always call you to discuss and confirm available delivery dates whilst we are processing your order. Please note standard deliveries are Monday-Friday,although deliveries within areas covered by our depots may be available on saturdays.

You can also choose the option to collect from one of Martin Dawes stores at the point of checkout meaning you can get a great deal and save on delivery too.  Alternatively contact us at orders@martindawes.com or on 0800 083 3310 and we will process your order over the phone. This option is only available for goods purchased by debit or credit card, and photographic ID will be required, such as a valid Passport or Driving Licence. Please note that store collection my take up to 4 working days as stock may need to be transported to the relevant store location.
